Hi, I’m Dylan Williams, and I’m an EAP instructor at Seoul National University and also a doctorate student at Manchester University. I first came across Cooperative Development on a Education of Language Teachers course that I did as part of my Master’s training with Manchester around 2008. My tutor on this course was Julian Edge.
After becoming familiar with the stages of the process I then tried to explore how the process worked in practice and I found out that even from one session developments could emerge. I engaged with a colleague and came to discover through the process that I wanted to spend less time on staging tasks in my classroom. What this experience showed me is that developments can occur in just one brief session with the process; thus, indicating that gains can occur in short sessions as well as in more longitudinal sessions as seen in other instances on this blog.
